Progressive house’s roots are far deeper than the sounds initially mislabeled by Beatport in the early 2010s. In its original form, the music trancelike, luscious, and driving, with a smooth flow and lengthy songs that induce hypnosis. The music is beginning to thrive like it had when it initially captivated the electronic music community in the early aughts, and much of this is thanks in part to artists like the Argentinian legend, Hernan Cattaneo.
Hernan will be making his way back to Los Angeles for a night not to miss for true lovers of the genre. He’ll be hosted by the historic Avalon nightclub in Hollywood, renowned for its top notch sound system and classic art deco theatre layout. The dance veteran, who’s known for his flawless mixing and ability to control the emotions of any room he plays in, will be playing a special extended set.
He’ll be setting up shop behind the club decks on December 8, so make sure to get tickets here for what’s set to be a night of proper progressive.
